Image to Layers AI is an online image layering tool. It uses AI to separate an image into a background and independent PNG elements. You can hide, reorder, move, and download them here.
02Which images can I upload?+
JPEG, PNG, and WebP files up to 30 MB, containing 262,144–36,000,000 pixels, with an aspect ratio between 1:16 and 16:1. Clear compositions with distinct objects are a good place to start.
03How long does separation take?+
Time varies with the image and the model’s queue. The page shows the real task state. If a connection drops, check the existing task again instead of generating another one.
04How many layers will I get?+
The model decides based on the image and your optional instructions, typically returning a background and separate elements, up to 17 layers in total. A specific layer count is not guaranteed.
05Can I edit text or resize individual elements?+
This version supports visibility, stacking order, renaming, and movement. Layers are raster PNG images, not editable text or vector objects. Scaling, rotation, and PSD export are not included.
06Will the result exactly match my original?+
AI may reconstruct hidden areas and reinterpret details. Results may differ from the original, especially around overlapping objects, text, and fine edges. You can compare both views before downloading.
07What is included in a download?+
Each PNG uses the result’s full canvas size to preserve placement. Download all includes every layer, even hidden ones, plus a manifest describing the composition. Export image saves only the currently visible composition.
08Are my projects saved?+
Paid results, including the original and layers, are saved privately for 30 days after completion. Restore them from Recent jobs on another device. Downloads remain yours after cloud expiry. Images are checked for content safety before AI processing.
09How are credits charged?+
Each delivered layer costs 10 credits, including the background. A valid result contains 2–17 layers. We reserve up to 170 credits and settle the actual total. Editing and downloads are free.
10When do credits expire?+
Monthly credits expire at the end of their Stripe billing period and do not roll over. Credit packs last 12 calendar months. The earliest-expiring credits are used first; canceling renewal keeps the current period’s credits.
11What if I do not have enough credits?+
If you cannot start a job because of insufficient credits, buy more on the Pricing page, then return to your image and try again.
